One of the first guided tour services in the Great Smoky Mountains is now celebrating 20 years of business.
“A Walk in the Woods” started back in 1998 and has since grown into a full-service tour company. They offer everything from nature walks and backpacking trips to salamander treks and bird-watching opportunities.
According to their website, they’ve helped over 83,000 people enjoy the Smokies since opening.
The company is holding a special celebration of their two decades in business.
They’re celebrating this milestone with a special guided history tour and live bluegrass concert. The event will be held at the historic Elkmont section of Great Smoky Mountains National Park from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, August 5.
A Walk in the Woods received REI Adventures’ Top Guide Award last year. They also received the honor in 2012.
