The government shutdown has affected the opening dates of some facilities in the Great Smoky Mountains National park.

Due to the partial government shutdown this winter, delays in the spring opening of campgrounds, picnic pavilions, and cabins are anticipated, the Park Service said. There is a reduced timeline for seasonal staff hiring and planning that has shifted opening dates at some facilities.

For the most up to date information about projected facility openings, see its schedule page which is being updated as new information is available.
