Organizers of this year’s Big Clinch River cleanup are putting out the call for volunteers.

We’re told they’re very shorthanded this year and they need more people to sign up to help pick up trash.

Last year, more than a hundred volunteers pulled 2200 pounds of trash and 75 tires from the river.

This year’s cleanup is planned for Saturday, July 21.

It starts at 8 with a free breakfast at the Museum of Appalachia for the first 100 volunteers to register before heading down to the water.

The cleanup should be done by 2 in the afternoon.
