A Campbell County sheriff’s deputy, Billy White, was recently diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia.

His community is now rallying behind him, with a show of support via GoFundMe.

White is also an MMA fighter-turned-boxer. White is now facing what’s likely his toughest fight yet.

A co-worker put together a GoFundMe page to help cover some of White’s expenses while in the hospital.

The goal is $10,000.

“Billy has dedicated his life to the service of others. Billy is a Deputy Sheriff with the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office in Tennessee. Billy also serves as a member of the Sheriff’s Office Special Weapons And Tactics Team. Billy puts so much on the line every time he goes to work and never thinks twice about what the cost could be at any given time.  He is an exemplary law enforcement officer and loved in the community,” the GoFundMe page states. “But now Billy needs our help. We as Billy’s family and friends are asking for help.”
