As prom and formals season approaches, local high school and college students are searching for the right look for them.
Sarah Merrill with Gage Models & Talent Agency spoke with WATE 6 On Your Side about the latest trends ahead of prom season.
- Gorgeous cuts: Most popular cuts include mermaid-style gowns that are form-fitting then flare out at the bottom and ball gowns that feature a fitted bodice and full skirt.
- Illusion gowns: Illusion gowns look great on women of any age. They provide a romantic and daring look with beautiful sheer fabric.
- Embellishments: Embellishments that are “in” this season are lace, pearls and intricate beading. A solid dress without embellishments can also be beautiful and make a statement when the embellishments are saved for the accessories.
- Beautiful backs: Many dresses this season look great not just from the front, but from the back too with sheer panels, embellishments or open-back gowns.
All models are wearing looks available at The Gilded Gown in Knox Center Mall. The Gilded Gown carries prom and bridal gowns for women of all sizes, including plus size.
