Great Smoky Mountain Boy Scouts prepare to welcome girls

For the first time, girls are being invited to join the Boy Scouts of America this fall. 

The historic decision made last spring is called the “family program.” The first phase allows girls to join cub scouts, the group’s program for children from kindergarten through fifth grade.

Field Director with the Great Smoky Mountain Boy Scout Council Nate Cunningham joined us to discuss the future of the organization.
