WATE’s own Laura Halm is partnering with Painting with a Twist for a fun community event that will raise money for East Tennessee Children’s Hospitals through the Dancing with the Knoxville Stars event.
Dancing with the Knoxville Stars, which is hosted each year by East Tennessee Children’s Hospital, brings together celebrities from the Knoxville area to compete and raise money for the hospital. Each celebrity is paired up with a professional dance partner. The winner is determined by the judges’ votes on the night of the competition as well as the amount of money raised by each dancer — one dollar equals one vote. The event has raised more than $735,000 for the children’s hospital.
Paint with a Purpose is a recreational painting class that will teach attendees through the process of making a painting. Attendees will work with an instructor as they work to create the same image but with their own individual flare.
All art supplies will be provided. Attendees are welcome to bring in light snacks and drinks including Beer and Wine to enjoy.
Registration and payment is needed to guarantee your seat. Registrations may close two hours before class time.
Painting with a Purpose will take place Thursday, April 12 from 6:30-9 p.m. It will take place at the Painting with a Twist studio at 121 S Gay Street SW. Tickets can be reserved here.
