The Great Smoky Mountains Hot Air Balloon Festival is back for its second year.
It offers something for everyone, including live entertainment, crafters demonstrating and selling their wares, food and local craft beer. There will also be a balloon glow and wine tastings.
Also new this year is are tethered balloon rides, offering a great opportunity to see the Smoky Mountains from a balloon.
There will be 10 hot air balloons showcased at the festival.
The event is set for August 18 in Townsend at the Townsend Visitor’s Center. The festival, which brought in 10,000 attendees in 2017, will run from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m.
Admission to the festival is free. Parking can be purchased online for $20 or for $25 on the day of the event.
