On Wednesday, Knox County Schools Board of Education unanimously approved the proposed certified retirement incentive plan.

The plan is a voluntary retirement plan teachers can elect, but only if those teachers have been with Knox County Schools for 10 year or more; as well as applying for either a service retirement, early service retirement or a 25-year retirement TCRS benefit.

TCRS stands for the Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System.

Eligible teachers can apply for this new plan between Nov. 19, 2018 through Jan. 18, 2019.
