Knox County Schools announced a new app that helps parents keep track of their kids’ school buses.

The school system tweeted about the app on Tuesday. The announcement came after several school bus related incidents in the area in the last few weeks, including a hit-and-run involving a school bus in East Knox County on December 3, a crash on Millertown Pike on November 26, a crash in Hamblen County that resulted in a Grainger County bus running off the road into a utility pole, and a Knox County bus crashing into a guard rail in Karns on November 16.

The app is called SafeStop and it allows parents to check the arrival status of buses at any time and track multiple bus routes.
