Fast food chain Krystal awarded grants Monday to schools in Knoxville.
The grants, totaling $11,000, will support initiatives in a variety of subjects including science and technology at six Knoxville schools. West View Elementary is using their grant money to buy students a 3D printer, with the hope that it gives students a jump start.
“Being a title one school we don’t have as many resources as available to students, so through this grant they will not have as big as a gap going into middle school and high school as maybe they would have otherwise,” said Susan Martin, West View Community School site coordinator.
The Krystal Foundation has awarded more than $132,000 to 61 schools and organizations since its start in 2016.
