National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is set for Saturday. It offers a safe way to dispose of medications.
The U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency says it has collected more than 5,400 tons of expired, unused and unwanted prescription medications through 16 prior events.
Around 6,000 collection sites manned by nearly 5,000 partner law enforcement agencies will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. local time.
You can find a location near you by clicking here or calling 1-800-882-9539.
The DEA cannot accept liquids, needles or sharps.
