As Seen On WATE

Two years ago Thursday, legendary Lady Vols Head Coach Pat Summitt died from early onset dementia, Alzheimer’s type, at age 64. Summitt shared her journey with the world, announcing her diagnosis to the public in 2011.

After retiring from the University of Tennessee in 2012, she devoted her time to raising awareness about Alzheimer’s disease by starting the Pat Summitt Foundation. The organization works to educate the public, connect families with resources, and ultimately fund research to learn more about the disease.
