Save Our Sons and Knoxville PD announce positive engagement workshop

The Save Our Sons Initiative and the Knoxville Police Department have announced a “Positive Engagement With Law Enforcement Workshop” that will feature presentations on knowing your rights, positive communication with law enforcement and other speakers. 

Knox County Assistant District Attorney General TaKisha Fitzgerald will give a keynote address titled “You Determine Your Own Destiny.”

Knoxville Police Chief David Rausch and KPD will conduct mock stops and interactive simulations. 

City of Knoxville Police Advisory Review Committee Executive Director Clarence Vaughn will give a presentation on “Knowing Your Rights “and positive communication with law enforcement. 

Save Our Sons is a city-wide program that aims to decrease the amount of youth criminal activity and repeat offenses and revitalizing blighted properties through beautification. 

The workshop will take place Saturday, March 31 from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. It will be held at the Knoxville Police Training Center at 6388 Cement Road.
