It’s a new year and with it, the Tennessee Theatre has a new lineup of shows and specials.
Along with new shows, the Tennessee Theatre has a new podcast, according to Becky Hancock.
“We just launched a podcast titled “Behind the Tennessee: A Palace of Stories,” Hancock tells WATE 6 On Your Side. “Throughout our 90-year anniversary celebrations, we’ve been recording first-hand accounts of the theatre’s history and memories of people’s experiences there. Now we’re sharing those stories with the community. We’re preserving an oral history of the theatre, but these stories also are really fun, interesting and sometimes unexpected. The first episode is called ‘Dating, Love and Marriage,’ and it’s available now on our website at tennesseetheatre.com/podcast. Be sure to sign up for podcast updates while you’re there.”
The historic theatre is also showcasing a historic and classic musical – “Les Miserables” – with shows and seminars. Performances of the musical start Jan. 2.
A full calendar listing of upcoming shows and performances is available on their website.
Also, there are a few other special performances at the theatre this year.
You can enjoy Tennessee Theatre’s first Mighty Musical Monday of 2019 with Mighty Wurlitzer organ performances by Freddie Brabson and special guests, Four Leaf Peat, a traditional Irish band.
As always, the event is free, and brown bag lunches and other refreshments will be available for purchase.
