Vote to select moniker for unnamed planet

As Seen On WATE

Think Mars, Jupiter, or Saturn are uninspired names for a planet? Here’s your chance to name a planet in our solar system.

Three astronomers announced a campaign to pick the name for this large minor planet. They discovered the astronomical body in 2007.

At the time it was given the identifier 2007 OR10. But it has never been given a moniker.

The international astronomical union usually names planets.

This time the group has selected three options for you to vote on. All three names are associated with mythological creatures and figures.

To see the names and vote for your favorite– just go to the website 2007or10.name Voting ends on May 10.
