Crews respond to ‘fully involved’ Powell structure fire

POWELL, Tenn. (WATE) – Crews responded to a “fully involved” garage fire in the 2000 block of Scanlon Court Tuesday evening that they were able to contain to that area of the home.

Rural Metro Fire officials telling WATE 6 On Your Side the fire was “fully involved” when they responded to the scene around 6 p.m.

“They performed an aggressive interior attack and stopped the fire in the garage. The remaining parts of the house did suffer smoke damage,” RMF spokesman Jeff Bagwell said Tuesday night.

No injuries were reported and no pets were lost.

WATE 6 On Your Side confirming from the scene that a couple was home at the time of the fire and their pet had to be rescued.

Knox County Sheriff’s Office and Rural Metro were on the scene.

The cause of the fire was under investigation, RMF said.
