Crews rescue stranded boaters at Seven Islands Wildlife Refuge

KODAK, Tenn. (WATE) – The Knox County Rescue Squad rescued two stranded boaters near Seven Islands Wildlife Refuge Monday night.

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency says an 18-foot boat hit shoals near the park on the French Broad River. Two people on the boat had head and face injuries and one had broken fingers.

Both were wearing life jackets.

Crews sent out a rescue boat to pick up the stranded boaters. The boaters were taken to UT Medical Center.
