JELLICO (WATE) – A former Campbell County special education teacher is expected to head to trial in on Wednesday for the alleged murder of her fiance.Previous story:Family of accused shooter in Campbell County speaks 

Lisa Elliott, 48, was arrested for allegedly shooting and killing Larry Champlin, then 53, in a domestic dispute at their Elk Valley home in 2014. Elliott is facing second degree murder charges.

Authorities say Champlin was shot once in his upper body. Elliott’s daughter, Diana Elliott, was at the home during the shooting. She says everything was fine just hours before Larry Champlin was shot and killed.

Elliott was initially charged with criminal homicide and was released on bond in March 2014.

Elliott was a special education teacher at Jellico High School.
