Free tacos Thursday thanks to Nashville native Mookie Betts

News

Nashville native Mookie Betts will feed untold thousands in a decidedly different way Thursday– by stealing a base in the World Series opener.

With the steal, Betts triggered Taco Bell’s famed “Steal a Base, Steal a Taco” promotion, providing everybody in the country with one free taco available Nov. 1.

On Thursday from 2 to 6 p.m., you can go to any Taco Bell and get a Doritos Locos taco for free.

The Boston Red Sox celebrated yet another World Series Title on Wednesday with a huge parade.

Betts, who was drafted by the Red Sox, has made his way up through the minor league system and has been a spark plug for this Boston offense over the past couple of years.  The Overton grad is also being considered for the American League MVP this season.

Betts committed to the University of Tennessee in 2010 but rescinded his commitment after being drafted by the Red Sox in the 2011 First-Year Player Draft.

Both Murfreesboro native David Price and Betts spend time in Nashville during the off-season, training at Vanderbilt’s top-grade facility.
