KNOXVILLE (WATE) – In game one of the Southern Professional Hockey League’s Finals, the Ice Bears defeat the Mississippi RiverKings 3-2 making them one win away from the SPHL President’s Cup.

In the second period, Ice Bears are up 2-0. Matt Whitehead in the corner for Mississippi, finds Leo Thomas, who puts one the back of the net.

Later in the period, the RiverKings still attacking on a power play. Bryon Paulazzo flies solo tying the game 2-2.

Still in the second, Eric Satim is all alone in front of the net. Satim makes one defender miss, but Peter DiSalvo blocks the shot.

In the third period, Josh Cousineau steal the puck and is looking for the lead, but it’s blocked by Bryan Hince.

With the game knotted at two, Berkley Scott secured the win for Knoxville with a goal at 4:54 in the third period.

Game two of the series is on Saturday.
