LONDON (WATE) – A baby weasel decided to hitch a ride on a flying woodpecker’s back.
This photo was taken by an amateur photographer, Martin Le-May, in the United Kingdom according to iTV News.
Le-May said he was taking a walk with his wife at Hornchurch County Park in London when he was alerted by a “distressed squawking” from a woodpecker. That’s when Le-May said noticed the baby weasel on the woodpecker’s back.
“Both of us trained our binoculars and it occurred that the woodpecker was unnaturally hopping about like it was treading on a hot surface,” said Le-May. “Suddenly it was obvious it had a small mammal on its back and this was a struggle for life.”

The photographer said the weasel must have been momentarily distracted, because the woodpecker was able to free himself and fly away.
The photograph was shared, according to Le-May, in the hopes of inspiring others to venture outside and take photos.
