INGRAM, Ky. (WATE) – Two people are in custody, including a teenager, in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash that happened Wednesday night in Bell County, Kentucky.

Joshua D. Ellis, 34, of Monticello, Ky., is charged with leaving the scene of an accident – failure to render aid with death or serious injury. His 15-year-old son was also taken into custody and charged with tampering with physical evidence.

Kentucky State Police say they were called to KY 92 in the Ingram community around 9:10 p.m. The investigation showed a pressure washer fell out of a pickup truck and into a ditch. Its owner was trying to load it back into his truck when a passerby, Aiada Fuson, 59, stopped to help.

That was when a black Hyundai Elantra going east left the roadway and hit Fuson. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The two people in the Hyundai sped off.

The next morning, a trooper was patrolling US 119 when he saw a vehicle matching the description of the one involved in the crash. The trooper stopped the vehicle in the Page community and both people inside were arrested.

More charges are pending.
