A Knoxville man faces a second-degree murder charge after an argument led to a shooting that killed his ex-girlfriend.

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office said Jessica Davis, 22, was fighting with her ex-boyfriend, 22-year-old Jacquiz McBee around 9 p.m. on April 16 when she was shot.

Deputies say Davis pulled out a handgun and pointed it at McBee. McBee tried to get the gun from her, a struggle ensued and the gun was fired, striking Davis.

Davis was pronounced dead at the scene.

McBee will appear in a Knox County courtroom on Wednesday.
