KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Two Knox County inmates who walked away from a work release job site have been captured, a Knox County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson said Tuesday.


Deputies had been searching for Ray Boone, 27, and Will Hatfield, 31, after the two walked away from a job site in the 700 block of Henley Street around 5 p.m. Monday.
Knox County Sheriff’s Office Communication Director Kimberly Glenn announced Tuesday that they are in custody at the Union County Sheriff’s Office.
“Sheriff Tom Spangler confirmed minutes ago the two Knox County escaped inmates are in custody at the Union County Sheriff’s Office. He and Chief Deputy Bernie Lyon want to commend the Union County Sheriff’s Office for capturing the two individuals who left a work release assignment late yesterday afternoon.”
