Knoxville bacon festival postponed until June due to weather

KNOXVILLE (WATE) – A bacon festival planned for downtown Knoxville the weekend before St. Patrick’s Day has been postponed until June due to the rainy forecast.

Dozens of Knoxville’s top restaurants, food trucks, specialty vendors will gather in World’s Fair Park to celebrate bacon.

The America Loves Bacon Festival will now be held in World’s Fair Park on Saturday, June 6. The festival will feature a VIP sampling from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by a public festival from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

All tickets already purchased will still be honored.

The bacon themed culinary adventure will feature thirty signature bacon dishes, entertainment from local bands and a special appearance by Celebrity Chef Brian Duffy.

“This isn’t just a bacon food festival – this is a bacon lifestyle festival,” said event founder and CEO Evan Weinstein. “We’re excited to bring Knoxville a day full of fun for the whole family.”

Popular items at the festival include a hog stick, general tso’s bacon nuggets, bacon potato chips, bacon funnel cake, bacon cotton candy, root beer bacon and chocolate bacon.
