Knoxville Lucky Kidney Run and Irish Festival raises money for good cause

KNOXVILLE (WATE) – Knoxville running-enthusiasts will soon be racing for a good cause. The Lucky Kidney Run and Irish Festival is on March 19.

The event raises money for the East Tennessee Kidney Foundation. It will consist of a 6K and 2K courses starting at Market Square. The 6K will go through Gay Street to the Fourth and Gill neighborhood. The 2K will be up and down Gay Street. The organization created the Irish Festival this year to provide additional fun for participants. There will be food and music. Families can expect bounce houses, slides, an obstacle course, a carousel, face painting, and other games and activities. The festival is from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Runners may register online. The cost is $35 per person ages 13-years-old and up. Those between 6-12-years-old are expected to pay $20. Participants will receive an athletic shirt. If you do not plan to attend, you can support the event by fundraising online.

Tickets for the festival can be purchased at the event. Tickets for the activities will be $1 each. Runners can pre-order tickets during registration.
