Knoxville police investigate body found near railroad tracks downtown

KNOXVILLE (WATE) – Knoxville police officers say a man whose body was found near the railroad tracks downtown likely died of natural causes.

The Knoxville Police Department says it was called to the Norfolk Southern Railroad Yard near the intersection of Depot Avenue and Gay Street around 4:40 p.m. Railroad employees found a man’s body in a makeshift shelter on the northern side of the tracks and called police.

The victim was identified as Ricky Allen Brock, 56, a periodic resident of the KARM mission. Police believed he died of natural causes. His family has been notified.
