Knoxville restaurant in flames

KNOXVILLE  (WATE) – A Knoxville business was in flames early Monday morning.

Crews arrived to the scene around 4 a.m. at 2531 Martin Luther King Blvd. Smoke and flames were coming from the business located in a strip mall. WATE 6 On Your Side spoke with the owners, they said the business was a restaurant almost ready to open.

Originally, firefighters were not able to gain full access to flames inside the building. Crews performed an aerial stream to the front of the building. Flames were coming from the roof and in the back of the building there was a crack in the exterior brick.

Crews were able to control the fire inside around 4:40 a.m.

No injuries were reported. There is an investigation on what caused the fire.
