KNOXVILLE (WATE) – The city of Knoxville is inviting artists to submit designs for a sculpture at the main entrance to the State Street Garage in Downtown Knoxville.
The garage’s entrance has had temporary public art installations for the past couple of years, but the city said they decided they want a permanent piece of art. Artists are invited to submit their qualifications by 5 p.m. Thursday, December 15.
The city’s Public Arts Committee will select up to three artists in January as finalists to prepare and present a proposed designed to be considered for the site. One of the finalists will be selected in March 2017 to create the artwork for the garage.
