KNOXVILLE (WATE) – The Knoxville Zoo is allowing patrons to visit a “galaxy far, far away” without ever leaving East Tennessee. “Star Wars” characters will meet fans and pose for photos at the zoo on Saturday, March 21. from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The day will also feature a “Jedi Training Camp” that includes light saber training and special instructions on how to use The Force. Each child will leave a certified Jedi knight.

Visitors are encouraged to wear “Star Wars” costumes as well, and any child under 12 dressed as their favorite character will get free admission with a paid adult admission. The event will be included in general zoo admission that day.

Knoxville Zoo will bring the big screen to life with help from the MidSouth Garrison of the 501st Legion, the preferred costuming organization of Lucasfilm Ltd., producer of the “Star Wars” film series.
