KNOXVILLE (WATE) – Anchor Kristin Farley represented WATE 6 On Your Side in the Star 102.1’s Dancing with the Knoxville Stars on Thursday night.

She raised $23,608.04 for the East Tennessee Children’s Hospital, making her the winner of the fundraising portion of the event. The combined total of money raised by all 10 contestants is over $143,000.

Star 102.1 Radio DJ Becca James and her dance partner Jake Rivera won the dancing portion of competition.

The funds raised during Dancing with the Knoxville Starts will buy the Children’s Hospital ventilators.

The annual event was held at the Knoxville Expo Center. Local celebrities perform a variety of dances with a professional dance partner from Dance Tonight.

Farley says she is truly petrified to dance in front of a crowd. Her dancing experience includes wedding receptions, college days and mommy-daughter living room dance parties.

“I love to help raise awareness and money for Children’s Hospital,” said Farley, adding that she has vowed to step outside of her comfort zone this year.

Since the event began in 2009, Dancing with the Knoxville Stars has raised more than $322,000 for East Tennessee Children’s Hospital.
