LUTTRELL, Tenn. (WATE) – One man is dead and another in custody Friday afternoon after a shooting in Union County.

Officers were called to Megan Lane in the Luttrell area around 4:11 p.m. for a man, later identified as 26-year-old Adam Paulette, found in a ditch with a multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Martin Gammon was arrested on the scene and is charged with criminal homicide.

The investigation revealed the shooting stemmed from a neighbor dispute.

Neighbors say they are shocked by what happened.

“I have a sixteen year old daughter and they walk a lot,” said Tina Wood. “She could have been walking by there and got shot in the mix of all that.”

Wood says she didn’t know the shooter well, but saw him on occasion.

“I’m not saying he was violent or anything. He was different. He stayed to himself. They would go out maybe three or four times a month. They would go out to the doctor, grocery store or whatever.”

Gammon is being held at the Union County Jail under a $1,000,000 bond..Download the WATE 6 On Your Side News App for breaking news, weather, sports and traffic information delivered to your mobile device.
