KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — UPDATE — Knoxville Police identified the victim as Thomas Lewis Walker, 63, of Knoxville.

No charges have been filed and there are no outstanding suspects at this time, police said.

“Violent Crimes Unit investigators are continuing to investigate the circumstances that led to the shooting. Upon the completion of the investigation, the case file will be turned over to the Knox County District Attorney’s Office, who will make a determination regarding prosecution,” said police in a press release.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) – The Knoxville Police Department said one person has been detained after a fatal shooting Wednesday morning.

Police responded to a reported shooting on McCampbell Wells Way at Laurel Creek around 7:40 a.m. One person was killed and a suspect has been detained, officials at the scene confirmed.

Upon arrival, an unresponsive male victim was located in the roadway suffering from at least one gunshot wound. An individual was detained on scene for further investigation.
