A 10-year-old boy died after he was involved in an ATV accident in Grainger County on Tuesday.
Grainger County deputies were called to a home on Ned Clark Road in Bean Station, Tenn. just after 6 p.m., according to the sheriff’s office. They found 10-year-old Cannon Griffin suffering from injuries caused by an ATV accident
Grainger County paramedics took Cannon, who was in critical condition, to Morristown Hamblen Hospital. He was then flown to UT Medical Center where he later died.
The Grainger County School System provided counselors to help students and staff cope with grief after the boy’s death.
“The Grainger County School System is deeply saddened by the tragic loss of one of our students and we mourn his loss,” said Edwin Jarnagin, the Grainger County director of schools.
