13 arrested in Cocke County drug roundup

Thirteen of 30 people wanted as part of a drug investigation in Cocke County have been taken into custody, but the other 17 are still wanted.

Cocke County Sheriff Armando Fontes says the investigation has been ongoing for several months and the grand jury heard the cases on Monday, returning 54 charges against 30 individuals.

Several of those arrested or being sought were charged with dealing drugs in a school zone, which if convicted, will result in an enhanced sentence.

Fontes asks anyone with information about suspicious or illegal activity to call the Cocke County Sheriff’s Office at (423) 623-6004.

Those taken into custody so far include:

  • Jessie Worthington, 26 – Sale and delivery of oxymorphone in a school zone
  • Randall Keys, 48 – Three counts of sale and delivery of oxymorphone
  • Douglas James Gordon, 49 – Two counts of sale and delivery of methamphetamine in a school zone
  • Jimmy Moore, 71 – Two counts of sale and delivery of morphine
  • Carole Jean Cody, 66 – Three counts of of sale and delivery of suboxone
  • Kimberly McCoig, 46 – Sale and delivery of suboxone
  • Teresa Cody, 60 – Two counts of sale and delivery of suboxone
  • Richard Lynn Martin, 59 – Two counts of sale and delivery of morphine in a school zone
  • Jacky Gregg, 52 – Two counts of sale and delivery of suboxone in a school zone
  • Richard Meeks, 45 – Sale and delivery of suboxone
  • Samantha Lowery, 36 – Three counts of sale and delivery of oxycodone
  • David Lowery, 43 – Two counts of sale and delivery of oxycodone
  • Andrew Hurst, 30 – Four counts of sale and delivery
