2 hospitalized after fight becomes car crash, shooting in Oak Ridge

Local News

Two people were taken to the hospital after a fight turned into a car crash and then a shooting in Oak Ridge.

The Oak Ridge Police Department says they were called to Maytag Laundry, 105 Tulsa Road, around 8 p.m. Tuesday about a car that had crashed into the building.

Officers learned a verbal argument between two men turned into a physical altercation. One of the men reached into the other man’s vehicle and held on as it was in motion. The vehicle hit two other cars before hitting the building.

The man outside the vehicle then fired a gun at the driver of the car, hitting him in the arm. The driver ran but was found near the Oak Ridge Civic Center.

Both men were taken to local hospitals for non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
