Two people have been arrested on drug charges following a multi-agency investigation that spanned two months. The investigation led to the discovery of heroin.
According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, after a two-month long investigation into drug activity at a residence, the sheriff’s office, New Market Police Department and the Fourth Judicial Drug Task Force executed a search warrant Tuesday afternoon on the residence on E. Old AJ in New Market.
“A search of the residence revealed 4 grams of heroin with a street value of $1,200.00,” a JCSO release stated.
A man and a woman were arrested at the residence. Their names have not yet been released.
“They were charged with the sale and delivery of heroin,” JCSO officials said. “They were transported to the Jefferson County Justice Center their identity will be released in the coming days.”
