Two people were taken to the hospital Wednesday after a crash on Rutledge Pike in Knoxville.
The Knoxville Police Department says Catrina Maggard, 18, was trying to make a left turn onto Rutledge Pike from Parker Drive in her Nissan Sentra around 1:30 p.m. when she pulled into the path of a Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Brittany Hurst, 28. The Tahoe hit the Sentra in the driver’s door.
Firefighters had to cut Maggard from her vehicle. She was flown to UT Medical Center for what are described as possibly life-threatening injuries.
Hurst was taken to UT Medical Center by ambulance for what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.
Rutledge Pike was closed for around two hours. The investigation is ongoing.
