3 people escape Knoxville house fire

Three people escaped uninjured from a Friday night house fire, according to the Knoxville Fire Department.

The fire occurrred in the 2400 block of Rim Street around 8:30 p.m.

According to KFD, when firefighters arrived at the scene, they found flames coming from the C side (rear) of the structure and all residents outside safely.

A resident told fire officials they heard a popping noise in a rear bedroom, went to investigate and found flames coming from the room.

All three residents then exited the home and called 911.

Fire crews entered the home and quickly extinguish the flames. The fire was contained to the rear bedroom and hallway.

Fire investigators are looking into the cause of the fire.
