The West Polk County Volunteer Fire and Rescue says a massive search is underway Monday morning for three adults and four children who are missing at Jacks River Falls in the Cohutta Wilderness.

This is in Fannin County, Georgia just south of the Tennessee state line.

A post on West Polk Fire & Rescue’s Facebook page says teams from neighboring Murray County, Polk County, Bradley County and the Georgia Dept. of Natural Resources are all taking part in the search.

West Polk Fire and Rescue says in the post that they have drones that are ready to deploy to help with the search.

The Facebook page for Blue Ridge Georgia Tourism calls Jacks River Falls “the most visited site in the Cohutta and is reached by a 4.5 mile trail through rugged wilderness.”

This is a developing story. We’ll bring you updates as we learn them.
