A retired Blount County K9 who served the sheriff’s office for nine years passed away over the weekend due to medical complications.
The Blount County Sherif’s Office says bloodhound K9 Tess served them from June 2009 through August 2009. She and Cpl. Allen Russell went on several search and rescue missions and are credited for finding a number of lost people and fugitives.
“We will miss you, Tess. The love and happiness you gave us will never be forgotten,” wrote Sheriff James Berrong.
