A William Blount High School sophomore was arrested Monday after deputies say he made threats about shooting up the school.
The 16-year-old boy is charged with delinquency by false report.
The Blount County Sheriff’s Office says the school resource officer received information the teen was making threats about shooting up the school. Evidence was found on his school-issued Chromebook that he had searched for information about school shootings.
The SRO determined the boy did not have access to weapons at home.
He is being held at the Blount County juvenile facility pending a detention release hearing.
