A Heritage High School freshman was arrested Friday for threatening to bring a gun to school.
The Blount County Sheriff’s Office says the 14-year-old boy was charged with delinquency by false report after several people heard him make a threat about bringing a gun to school.
The SRO at the school was informed of the threat and, along with school administrators, began investigating. The SRO determined the boy doesn’t have access to weapons at home.
The boy is being held at the Blount County Juvenile Detention facility pending a detention hearing.
