After seven years in business, Blue Coast Grill & Bar on the corner of Market Square closed earlier this week.
Now, you’ll find the sign that says, “Temporarily closed for construction.”
The restaurant tweeting out Wednesday, saying, “We are sorry to announce we have closed our doors.”
WATE 6 On Your Side reached out to Bob Speck, the CEO of Blue Coast Burrito and Blue Coast Grill and Bar.
The full statement reads:
“We at Blue Coast want to thank our many patrons in Knoxville and on Market Square for their support of our concepts. It has been a great honor to serve this special community for the past eight years with both Blue Coast Burrito and Blue Coast Grill & Bar. We have thoroughly enjoyed developing our grill and bar concept on Market Square, but we have elected for now to concentrate our resources on the development of our fast casual brand exclusively. No doubt we will be back in Knoxville soon as it is a primary target for our brand. The entire Blue Coast family extends our heart-felt gratitude to the citizens of Knoxville and send them wishes for a blessed and joyful Christmas holiday and the happiest New Year.”
