Brackins Blues Club reopens in Maryville after brick facade fell 2 weeks ago

Local News

MARYVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) – Brackins Blues Club has announced that they have reopened following two weeks of repairs after a brick facade fell from the front of the building, the blues club said in a Facebook post.

Just days after a brick facade fell from the front of a Maryville building, the rest of the old brick from one floor above fell to the ground two weeks ago.

The facade at Brackins Blues Club in downtown Maryville fell on Monday before the store opened, so no customers were inside and no one was hurt.

At the time, they said a structural engineer was coming to inspect and they would reopen soon.

Then on Thursday, a second layer of unsecured bricks came crashing to the sidewalk. The building’s owner is trying to keep a positive outlook.

The structural engineer instructed the owner to tear down that section of brick in order to repair the building. The owner says this accident just sped up the process.
