A school bus from out of town broke down on Interstate 40 in Knoxville on Friday afternoon after apparently having a small engine fire.
The incident happened around 4 p.m. on I-40W at James White Parkway. A teacher told a WATE 6 On Your Side crew the students from Hixson were on a field trip to WonderWorks in Pigeon Forge.
The Knoxville Police Department says all kids are safe and are on the roadside waiting for another bus.
Drivers are asked to use caution and expect delays.
