Authorities have identified the drowning victim recovered on Monday in the Powell River.

Jordon Houston, 20, from Lexington, Kentucky has been by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency as the individual recovered by emergency crews Monday.

At first, Campbell County Sheriff’s deputies believed that Houston jumped off the Cedar Creek Bridge or was swimming, but eyewitnesses told TWRA officers that he jumped off a boat.

His body was recovered by the LaFollette Rescue Squad and taken to Lafollette Medical Center.

Campbell County Sheriff Robbie Goins said there are no signs of foul play.

The Cedar Creek Bridge is on Cedar Creek Road, about five miles from downtown LaFollette.
