Some Knox County students came together Wednesday night to host a town hall meeting about recent school shootings, prompting a discussion about school safety.
Members of the Senior Student Council at Catholic High School hosted the event, hoping to spark a conversation on the concern for school safety.
“There’s just a lot of opinions on where to go with this, so we’re just trying to get together, discuss them, and we think that could be our starting point as to solve this. So we don’t have to be having walkouts and memorials and hashtags to try and say ‘no more,'” said senior Conor Metz.
Governor Haslam released his approved list Wednesday of recommendations to improve school safety around the state.
