Reports of a man harassing people at a restaurant on Central Avenue Pike led to an arrest and the recovery of a stolen SUV.
A Knoxville police officer responded to the restaurant, where witnesses provided him with a description of the suspect’s vehicle.
As the officer canvassed the area, he saw a Nissan Xterra matching the vehicle’s description. A check of the license plate revealed the SUV was stolen.
After a 30-minute, low-speed pursuit, Donald Ray Allen, 60, of Knoxville was taken into custody on Trigg Street in East Knoxville. He was charged with theft, evading arrest, driving on a suspended license and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also charged with a parole violation.
